Beryl is a beautiful orangutan who was rescued and rehabilitated at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Sabah, Borneo. When I was working there in 2019, she was 8yrs old, and largely independent. She is now mostly wild, but was a wonderful mother-figure for the younger orphans, who could often be seen copying her behaviour.
